Regular sweeping is essential to keep the appliance operating safely. This does not just end at a brick chimney stack - all flexible flue liners or twin wall flues from wood and multi fuel appliances should be swept a minimum of once a year.

This is an interesting question, and how many people can honestly answer this? They may be able to say that the room temperature is at 22oC, but how hot is the flue gas temperature? David Ebbs, (Specflue Ltd – Technical Manager investigates a bit deeper on this matter). Why does the flue gas temperature make any difference anyway? The stove is a heat source and if it is giving off heat, what does it matter?
