Specflue Launches Impressive New Training Facility

Specflue, the UK’s number one supplier of flue and chimney systems, is set to lead the way in producing the next generation of solid fuel and renewable technology installers and specialists; after officially opening its new purpose built Specflue Training Division on Tuesday 29th May, with the holding of an open day.
Lord Teverson, Liberal Democrat MP for Energy and Climate Change was accompanied by Specflue’s National Sales Manager, Richard Hiblen and Jed Smith, Specflue’s Training Manager in officially opening the new centre.

The new purpose built facility has two large classrooms for taught sessions and two sizeable practical and assessment areas fully fitted with a wide range of working live appliances including solid fuel stoves, cookers, open fires, solar thermal, biomass and heat pumps.

Those who attended the official launch day were treated to a guided tour of the new facility and were given the opportunity to learn about Specflue’s wide range of solid fuel and renewable courses, discuss training requirements and bespoke programmes and gain knowledge of Specflue’s own range of renewable technologies, under the Specflue owned trademark Green Square.

Richard Hiblen, Specflue’s National Sales Manager states “The open day was a fantastic opportunity for us to communicate to installers, retailers and the local community about our impressive new training facilities.  It provided us with the chance to ensure that everyone was aware of the wide course portfolio that we now offer.  Feedback shows that teaching quality, course range and teaching facilities are top priorities to students when selecting a training provider.  All of which we believe are our greatest strengths.  The renewable technology market is set to play an ever more pivotal role in our society both today and in the future.  Something which Specflue is now more than prepared for”.

Specflue’s Training Division is just a handful of centres across the UK to offer both HETAS and BPEC accreditation.  The new training centre located at Specflue’s head office in Sudbury, Suffolk offers a complete end to end solution for both installers and retailers looking to become actively involved and enhance their knowledge and skills in both the renewables and solid fuel market.

Jed Smith, Training Manager at Specflue highlighted: “Employees are an organisation’s greatest asset and it is critical they are provided with the necessary skills and knowledge to conduct their job and enhance their careers.  The aim of Specflue’s Training Division is to provide a progressive learning environment for people at all levels and interest areas.  The facility itself is outstanding and coupled with a team of experienced trainers; this is set to be a winning combination".
