HETAS H001 - Introduction to Solid Fuel

This course is targeted at candidates starting out in the solid fuel industry who have no existing knowledge or experience in the heating or plumbing sector.
This course is targeted at show room staff, Building Control Officers, Architects and Quantity Surveyors who wish to update their knowledge and understanding of current building regulations.
This course offers both theory and practical training on 'dry' wood and solid fuel appliances and open fires. This includes the installation, commissioning and servicing of flues and appliances. Current Building Regulations and European Standards are covered in this course.
HETAS have created a refresher course. It is designed to cover all relevant changes to the Building Regulations, Health and Safety, BS EN standards legislation and technical standards within the last 5 years, candidates must confirm competence through practical and theoretical assessment. This new refresher course is now available. Initially we are offering a one and two day refresher course with a third day for wet refresher training.
This course offers both theory and practical training on solid fuel appliances which link into wet systems, such as back boiler stoves and dual coil cylinders, etc. Current Building Regulations, European Standards are covered in the course.
The course is a mixture of theory and practical elements. It will provide installers with enough knowledge to carry out feasibility studies, and to professionally advise clients on fuel type, storage options & system design. It also covers marketing and the various grants available for biomass systems.
This course covers a similar syllabus to HETAS H005-Biomass Appliance Installer Course but with a one day addition, which covers Building Regulations & Standards.
This course offers both theory and practical training on the design and correct installation of prefabricated twin wall flue systems. Correct installation practices, Building Regulations and European Standards are all covered, via discussions and practically with fully working rigs.
The basics of the Isokern pumice flue range are covered, including advantages of the products, manufacturing process, components available and the installation methods.
An opportunity to work with one of our National Chimney Academy Technical Trainers to build a portfolio of solid fuel installations. Experience will be gained in installing live appliances and basic flue liners and the correct way to commission and service stoves
